The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Officer to provide a critical role within the Security Standards Unit.
About the Business Unit
The Security Standards Unit sits within the Security and Intelligence Division and is a diverse team responsible for several key functions in maintaining security and safety in prisons. These core functions include security risk management, schematic and emergency plans, state-wide locksmithing services, maintaining policy and standards documents, enhancing barrier control and security screening processes, and the research and implementation of security technology.
About the Role
The Project Officer, Security Standards Unit (SSU) is pivotal in the delivery of crucial strategic projects for Corrections Victoria relating to security, technology and barrier control. In this role, you will gain insight into the unique challenges facing Corrections Victoria and be in the foreground of solving complex problems focused on keeping people safe.
This role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires capacity to balance competing priorities, be well organised and deliver work within timeframes. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to perform the role well, along with the ability to liaise with staff and key stakeholders within and external to Corrections Victoria. The role is based at the Statewide Services Building, Western Plains Correctional Centre in Lara.
