Transport Service is a Group within Department of Transport & Planning, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians.
Regional Capital Delivery is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for for delivery of new and upgrades to road and bridge infrastructure.
About the role
The fixed term role is until 28/2/27
The Project Officer works closely with Project Leads and Project Managers, supporting the delivery of road and bridge improvement projects. The Project Officer supports delivery of projects on time, within budget and meeting client requirements by assisting with the assessment of progress claims and
variations, monitoring and reporting on project performance, preparing contract and project documentation.
The Project Officer may be assigned the responsibility for delivering non-complex projects under the direction of more experienced Project Leads and Project Managers.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong project delivery skills by defining tasks to achieve agreed outcomes and proactively monitoring progress, taking corrective action when needed. They will apply foundational critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, using policies and processes to address issues or seeking guidance with relevant insights. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to understand others’ perspectives, motivations, and needs, and to tailor communication effectively to different audiences to ensure impactful service delivery.
