This role forms part of a team that works under the direction of a Program Manager to support delivery of strategic interventions and safety improvement programs that target workplace health and safety. In this role you will be required to work across a number of projects and collaborate with other health and safety focused teams.
Project Officers work with stakeholders to develop and implement prevention lead improvements or initiatives that support workers, employers and duties holders under the OHS Act to understand their rights and obligations.
Project Officers form part of a flexible resource pool that work under the direction of a Program Manager. The role works in multi-disciplinary project teams to develop, implement, manage and evaluate projects that are designed to address complex problems to assist the Health and Safety Business Unit to deliver WorkSafe’s Strategy.
- $120,908.00 per annum + 12% superannuation
- Full-time, fixed term position until 29th May 2026 (parental leave)
- Wadawurrung Country / Geelong based role (hybrid model, work from home, 3 days a week in office)
Key Accountabilities
- You will collaborate with members of the Programs team and other teams in the branch in the scoping, design and development of projects
- You will seek the input of stakeholders at key developmental and implementation stages of the project. Facilitate the development of project objectives and other activities which may involve acting as a facilitator at meetings
- You will also work with relevant internal business partners to obtain data required to scope projects and inform decision making of the project team, Program Manager, or other stakeholders involved in the sponsorship of projects
- You will undertake work identified in project plans and/or coordinate with other business partners, implementation or service delivery areas
- Finally, you will develop recommendations or identify opportunities for improved project outcomes, using the results of research and analysis or program review
About you
The successful candidate in this role will possess strong project management experience and excellent stakeholder management skills. You will have strong written communication skills - confident writing and reviewing resources and project plans considerate of different audience mindsets – and be flexible working flexible working across multiple projects. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
