An exciting and unique opportunity is available for a motivated and talented individual to join the Forum for Truth and Recognition as the Project Officer.
In June 2023, the Victorian State Government established a Board of Inquiry into Historical Child Sexual Abuse at Beaumaris Primary School in the 1960s and 1970s, and abuse by the same employees at other government schools. The inquiry was focused on historical child sexual abuse experienced at Beaumaris Primary School and other government schools, linked to relevant perpetrators, as well as the response of the Department of Education (DE) at the time.
The Forum for Truth and Recognition will build on the work of the Board of the Inquiry to provide victim-survivors with the opportunity to engage with an impartial and transparent forum that will enable them to tell their story and have their experiences recognised.
As the Project Officer for the Forum for Truth and Recognition, you will perform a range of project support activities across the Forum.
You will undertake a range of tasks which may include project research, reporting assistance, project coordination, and administrative activities to support various teams in the design, development and implementation of various events, activities, and initiatives. You will need to demonstrate previous skills and experience in providing high level administrative support for complex and varied project initiatives, with proficiency across the MS office suite. You may be required to provide Secretariat support for committees and advisory groups.
