About the Role
Fixed term position until 30 June 2029.
The Project Manager plays a key role in the ongoing development and improvement of the kindergarten funding system, ensuring it continues to support early childhood reforms and meet the needs of the sector. With the system now established, the role focuses on managing change requests, responding to evolving operational and stakeholder needs, and driving continuous improvement across policy and program delivery.
Working across the Early Childhood Education Group, the role partners with policy, operational and technical delivery teams to translate business and stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable system enhancements. It leads the coordination of these requirements through governance and delivery processes, ensuring they are well-defined, prioritised, and aligned to broader reform objectives.
The position requires strong stakeholder engagement and influence, working with internal teams and the sector to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen system functionality.
Attributes
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. They will demonstrate systems thinking and an ability to understand how policy, operational processes and technology systems interact to support enrolment, attendance, program and funding administration across the early childhood sector. Experience working with complex business systems, translating business requirements into practical solutions, and managing system-related change will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail. They will be adaptable, collaborative and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complexity in a dynamic environment. Strong leadership and influencing skills are essential, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering user-focused outcomes that support early childhood reform priorities.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A suitable tertiary qualification in a related field is desired.
