About the role:
The Project Manager, Infrastructure Services plays a critical role in enabling the reliable, secure and efficient operation of the Department's technology environment by leading the delivery and ongoing management of infrastructure and platform initiatives. Working within the Infrastructure & M365 Services Unit of the Enterprise Technology Branch, the role is responsible for managing complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from approval through to implementation and transition into business as usual support, ensuring outcomes align with departmental strategy, enterprise architecture standards and service level expectations
The role supports the refresh and uplift of ageing and out of support environments, the optimisation of on premises and cloud based infrastructure, and the continuous improvement of core platforms that underpin critical departmental and shared services. This includes maintaining production environments to agreed SLAs, enabling high availability and resilience, and ensuring infrastructure solutions are fit for purpose, scalable and secure.
The Project Manager provides strong leadership across project delivery, operational readiness and service stewardship, working closely with internal technical teams, external vendors, executive sponsors and steering committees. The role is accountable for effective stakeholder engagement, financial and cash‑flow management, risk and issue management, quality assurance and performance reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
In addition, the role contributes to the broader objectives of the eHealth division by embedding best practice project management disciplines, supporting innovation and continuous improvement, and ensuring infrastructure initiatives enable digital transformation, productivity and safe, reliable service delivery across DH and DFFH under shared services arrangement.
