About the role
This is a full-time role with three (3) ongoing multiple positions.The Project Manager position sits within the Data & Digital division and will be responsible for the delivery of small to medium scale projects. The role is accountable for active management of resources, budget, risks, issues and schedule within agreed tolerances, to successfully plan, execute, deliver projects and transition the outcomes to operations. This will be done via a range of delivery methodologies. The role will provide project-related technical and commercial advice to senior management.
Key Selection Criteria
The role requires strong applied capabilities in project delivery, business and commercial acumen, and stakeholder management. This includes defining and coordinating tasks to achieve agreed outcomes, monitoring progress and taking corrective action when needed, and ensuring efficient operations with a clear understanding of costs. Where external vendors are involved, the role is responsible for managing engagement terms and holding parties accountable. It also involves actively adding value for clients and stakeholders, connecting people across areas, monitoring satisfaction, and constructively resolving issues.
At an accomplished level, the role demonstrates outcomes thinking and collaborative leadership. This includes establishing mechanisms to monitor the impact of work on the community and ensuring operating and delivery models create positive community outcomes. The role also guides others to build a collaborative culture, removes barriers to knowledge and information sharing, and identifies opportunities to work across teams to deliver shared outcomes.

Position accountabilities
The role is responsible for the timely and successful delivery of small to medium projects across their full lifecycle, ensuring objectives, milestones, budgets, and governance requirements are met in line with business priorities and resource availability. This includes developing comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, and resourcing, as well as providing high-quality, timely and accurate reporting on project status. The role ensures transparency and accountability by identifying and managing variances to scope, budget, and schedule, while maintaining effective project management processes and documentation.
The position also focuses on collaboration, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. It fosters a culture of teamwork to deliver improved business and customer outcomes through data and analytics, identifies and manages project risks and issues to enable early intervention, and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders. The role promotes safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations and may undertake other duties consistent with the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic), employment classification, and capability requirements.
