The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Lead to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria, Counter Terrorism Coordination Unit.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria oversees the CVE Service Delivery Model which provides an end-to-end framework, inclusive of intelligence services, legislative provisions, policies and procedures that support the management of individuals convicted of terrorism offences and those that pose a risk of violent extremism in prisons or subject to a community-based order, including post sentence Continuing Detention Orders. Corrections Victoria's approach to countering violent extremism is based on current and emerging evidence of good practice rehabilitation and reintegration of religiously and ideologically motivated violent extremist prisoners and offenders.
Counter Terrorism Coordination (CTC), within the Sentence Management Division, are responsible for informing Corrections Victoria's operational strategic direction in the ongoing management of the VE cohort, ensuring operational practice continues to evolve and align with contemporary national and international best practice evidence to reduce recidivism and maintain community safety. CTC provides central oversight and governance of the CVE Service Delivery model across prisons and Community Correctional Services. CTC ensures the integrity of the end-to-end model, identifying and implementing system improvements and providing expert advice and support to operational staff managing the violent extremist (VE) cohort.
