Project Director, VET Funding Reform
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint a Project Director, VET Funding Reform within the Policy and Strategy Branch of the Skills and TAFE Group. This senior technical specialist role will lead delivery of the VET Funding Reform project, overseeing work to review Victoria's current VET funding and commissioning model and develop decision-ready reform options for government.
Skills and TAFE provides leadership and stewardship of Victoria's vocational education and training system, supporting a responsive, high-quality system that aligns training with industry needs, strengthens workforce pathways and enables Victorians to access the skills they need for current and future jobs.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Policy and Strategy Branch, the Project Director will lead project governance, consultant engagement, interdepartmental stakeholder management and coordination of departmental input across the reform program. The role will provide clear and authoritative advice to senior executives and government on reform options, risks, sequencing, fiscal considerations and implementation implications.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience leading complex reform projects, ideally in policy, funding, commissioning or system reform environments. They will have sound judgement, highly developed communication skills, strong stakeholder management capability and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outcomes through governance processes and sensitive policy settings.
