About The Role
The Project Director plays a pivotal leadership role in the successful delivery of strategic programs across the Corporate Services Group. This executive position is accountable for ensuring that programs are aligned with the department's strategic objectives, delivered in accordance with best practice frameworks, and that measurable benefits are realised.
Working across complex operational environments, the Project Director will oversee programs from initiation through to closure - implementing robust governance, managing risk, optimising resourcing, and driving continuous improvement. A key focus of this role is leading multidisciplinary teams, partnering with senior stakeholders, and embedding a culture of collaboration, agility and high performance.
This position sits within the Program Delivery Services branch, which is responsible for delivering transformation initiatives that improve corporate service models, operating models, digital capabilities, and staff experience across the department. The branch also leads capability development and portfolio management, working in close partnership with service owners to ensure successful integration of change into business operations.

The Program Delivery Services is tasked with the delivery of strategic programs that improve corporate service models, operating models, digital capabilities and improve experiences of staff across the department. The branch services include program and management, capability development, portfolio management. The branch works closely with partner corporate services teams to integrate service outcomes and operational changes into the existing business operations.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
