About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, Future Fibre Industry, the Project Director, Policy, Strategy and Industry Insights will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of Victoria's forest products sector. You will drive the development of strategies and policies that support a competitive and sustainable forest products industry, with a focus on increasing employment - particularly in rural and regional areas.
Leading a high-performing team, you will oversee a work program that informs policy and program development to expand the plantation estate (for both timber and carbon), explore investment attraction opportunities, and provide technical and industry insights that enable long-term industry growth.
As a senior leader within Agriculture Victoria, you will also contribute to the broader strategic direction and operations of the Group, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and standards. Success in this role will require strong strategic acumen, proven experience leading teams through change, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
