The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project and Business Support Officer to provide a critical role within Sentence Management.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) operates Victoria's adult prison and community corrections system. It ensures prisoners are safely and securely accommodated and aims to rehabilitate people by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour to reduce their risk of reoffending.
The Sentence Management Division (SMD) is responsible for guiding the journey of people through the period of their sentence by applying risk assessment tools to assess a prisoner's general risk of reoffending and identifying their criminogenic needs and matching correctional resources with the objective of placing and managing prisoners appropriately. It is a process of balancing security, management and needs of the prisoner, the community need for protection and efficient and effective operation of the correctional system.
