About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Child Safety Division leads and coordinates key reforms to promote child wellbeing and safety both in early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings and across government. It works closely with other parts of the department to provide coordinated policy and program advice, including policy input into Commonwealth/state negotiations.
About the Role
The Project Advisor will work within the Child Safety Policy and Programs Unit to support the design and implementation of prevention initiatives to strengthen child safety in Victoria's ECEC system, and improve workforce capability to identify and respond to signs of abuse.
The role contributes towards policy development, program implementation, stakeholder engagement and providing general project and team support to ensure successful project delivery.
To succeed in this role, applicants should demonstrate strong project management and communication skills, policy and implementation design skills and experience, and the ability to work in a collaborative, agile and flexible manner. Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience in child safety is desirable but not essential.
