About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
Workforce Policy and Programs Division in Early Childhood Education Group, leads the implementation of key workforce policy, programs and projects to support the implementation of the Best Start Best Life Reforms, with a focus on increasing workforce supply through attraction and retention initiatives.
Team
The Practitioner and Leadership Development (PLD) team leads work on programs that make a real difference to early childhood leaders and teachers, with a focus on delivering the Early Years Learning Networks for teachers and educators, and the Early Learning Leadership Forums and Evening Leadership Series for sector leaders. Since 2021, the PLD team has been leading these initiatives to support educators, educational leaders, and service and organisational leaders to connect, collaborate and share insights and best practice to advance the Best Start, Best Life Reforms.
Branch
PLD is one of 5 teams in the Workforce Policy and Programs (WPP) Branch. The WPP Branch leads on the implementation of key early childhood workforce strategy, projects and programs that seek to increase the supply of the early childhood education workforce. The work of the WPP Branch is built on a strong foundation of collaboration, including with key external stakeholders with whom we are partnering to successfully deliver workforce supply programs.
About the Role
This is a fixed term position from 3 August 2026 to 3 August 2027.
As the successful applicant, you will contribute toward performance and contract management, program implementation, local area engagement and general team support.
You will prepare budget documentation and lead purchasing and invoicing for the PLD team. Experience using Oracle for purchasing and invoicing or the ability to quickly gain this skill is critical for success in this role.
You will be responsible for collecting, quality assuring and analysing data associated with PLD projects and events, report on survey responses and project outcomes, and provide general governance and data management support to ensure successful project delivery. Experience using PowerBI to provide reports and build dashboards is highly regarded.
You will report to the team Manager.
