Team
The Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Program Support team leads work on programs that make a real difference to teaching students, with a focus on understanding what works to connect new teachers to regional, rural, remote and specialist schools. Programs are designed to integrate teaching students into school communities through events and mentor connections, and schools benefit from additional professional learning and pipelines of future teacher. The ITE Program Support team develops evidence-based policy and works closely with a range of stakeholders to support the implementation of programs such as Teach Rural, Placements Plus and the Pre-service teacher Placement Grants.

ITE Program Support is one of three teams in the Early Career Support and Initial Teacher Education (ECSITE) Branch. ECSITE Branch leads placement and program supports for teachers, helping them to get the best start in their careers and set them up to thrive in the profession. ECSITE Branch has a welcoming, supportive and high-performing culture.

Workforce Policy and Strategy (WPS) Division, in Schools Workforce Group, brings together workforce strategy, policy and data analytics to lead a strategic approach to the management and development of Victoria's school education workforce by:
Role
This is a fixed term position from 17 June 2026 to 23 March 2027.
You may be required to lead policy development, grants processes, contract management, stakeholder engagement and provide general support (e.g. procurement, communications, risk management and strategic advice) to ensure successful program delivery. Budget skills, including understanding program budgets and allocations, are highly valued. You will be required to work collaboratively with other team members.
You will report to the team Manager.
