About the Role

The primary purpose of the Project Accountant position is to provide financial management and project duties to support the operations and business of Surveying Services, particularly major projects. This position has a key role in integrating the financial aspects of three groups, that fall under Surveying Services, and to address and resolve complex financial services for external clients and for government departments

We’re seeking a motivated Project Accountant who enjoys making a real impact. In this collaborative team, your work will contribute to meaningful community outcomes and organisational goals. You’ll build strong stakeholder relationships, respond to changing priorities, and work across teams to deliver practical financial solutions.
Using sound judgement and critical thinking, you’ll resolve issues, manage vendor relationships, and ensure services meet stakeholder needs. Your strong customer focus will help maintain high-quality outcomes while managing delivery risks.
Technically, you’ll operate financial systems, review transactional accuracy, forecast short-term cash needs, and oversee AP/AR processes. You’ll also bring strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel.
Your management accounting capability will support budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, financial reporting, month-end activities, and costing models that inform funding decisions.
