About the Department of Education's Restorative Engagement and School Support Branch
The Restorative Engagement and School Support (RESS) Branch is responsible for supporting Victorian government schools and the department respond to current and historical incidents of child sexual abuse by an adult working in a Victorian government school. The Branch has two units:
The Branch manages a variety of functions to support its two work units including the department's counselling assistance payments for current and former students who have experienced child sexual abuse by an adult working in a government school, and reporting and governance for the implementation of recommendations made by a recent Board of Inquiry into historical child sexual abuse in certain Victorian government schools.
About the Role
The Program Officer will play a critical role supporting the RESS Branch with program and project delivery including providing administrative and operational support, records management and reporting support, budget and invoicing support, and other general business, program and project support.
The role requires demonstrated experience using multiple information technology platforms, attention to detail, excellent organisation skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. Given the highly sensitive nature of the Branch's work, empathy, resilience, confidentiality and self-awareness are all particularly important traits to bring to the role.
The Program Officer will work flexibly across the Branch based on capacity and demand, and may also be required to support the work of the broader Operational Policy, School Engagement and Compliance Division on request.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated knowledge of various Microsoft software, SharePoint, and similar platforms.
Project and administrative experience would be desirable.
