Then you are well suited to the role of Program Manager, Strategic Issues and Policy Integration.
The Program Manager, Strategic Issues and Policy Integration is responsible for leading a small team to resolve complex issues impacting operational delivery of forest and fire management and providing coordinated and consolidated operational advice into the development of legislation, policies and strategies relevant to delivery of forest and fire management.
The Program Manager, Strategic Issues and Policy Integration will lead their team to work across Bushfire and Forest Services (BFS), other parts of DEECA and across Government to proactively identify policy and strategy gaps that create risk to forest and fire program delivery and advocate for their prioritisation. They will also take the lead on resolving emergent strategic issues impacting operational delivery such as active litigation, disputes and implications from policy changes.
To be effective the Program Manager, Strategic Issues and Policy Integration will need to bring a strong understanding of the operational complexities of delivering land and fire management, work effectively across BFS and other parts of DEECA, as well as with key partners including Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners, be able to drive change in short-timeframes and be comfortable leading the delivery of dynamic and complex projects.

This is a fixed term available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is flexible within with hybrid work arrangements available. An exemption from detaching for ongoing BFS staff has been granted for this position.
