The Program Manager, Policy Integration and Strategic Issues is responsible for leading a small team to enable Forest and Fire Operations Division to lead the resolution of complex projects and provide coordinated and consolidated advice on behalf of Forest and Fire Operations Division into the development of legislation, policies and strategies that have implications for operational delivery of forest and fire management.
The Program Manager, Policy Integration and Strategic Issues will lead their team to work across FFOD regions and state branches to proactively identify policy and strategy gaps that create risk to program delivery and advocate for their prioritisation on FFOD's behalf. They will also take the lead on resolving emergent strategic issues impacting operational delivery such as active litigation, disputes and implications from policy changes.
To be effective the Program Manager, Policy Integration and Strategic Issues will need to bring a strong understanding of the operational complexities of delivering land and fire management, work effectively across BFS and other parts of DEECA, as well as with key partners including Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners, be able to drive change in short-timeframes and be comfortable leading the delivery of dynamic and complex projects.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
