Project Officer
Salary: $79,122 - $96,073 (plus superannuation)
- Fixed-term position to 30 June 2026

The Position
We are looking for a Project Officer to assist with the implementation of the Get Active Victoria program. The Project Officer will provide support to daily operations and enhancements to the Get Active Victoria website, web and mobile applications to ensure the digital platform is up-to-date, accurate and meets the needs of users. Other responsibilities will be raising the awareness of the Get Active Victoria program, increasing engagement through regular e-news, social media content, and marketing activities and providing customer support through the Get Active Victoria inbox and social media accounts.
Main accountabilities:
- Support daily operations of, and enhancements to, the Get Active Victoria website, web and mobile applications, including:
- Coordinate and proof website changes undertaken by digital agency; take part in user acceptance testing (UAT) for all platform upgrades, including drafting test plans and conducting testing.
- Assist with regular monitoring of platform for issues and ensure the digital platform is up-to-date and accurate, assist with issue resolution.
- Undertake annual Places database update—brief supplier, draft council communications, review and sign-off data collection form, monitor council submissions, manage reminder communications.
- Implement the Get Active Victoria content plan:
- Develop fortnightly enews and social media content according to the content plan - create topic ideas, research potential content, write copy that is appropriate for the target audience and consistent with Get Active Victoria key messages and tone, design social media tiles that are consistent with brand guidelines, coordinate approvals.
- Upload content for digital agency to publish; proof, test and approve eDMs; post social media content; update website banners via CMS to align with latest content releases, campaigns etc.
- Support website content development (brief suppliers, proofread content, etc).
- Monitor the Get Active Victoria inbox and social media accounts to provide customer support, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Address user issues and action requests (e.g. login issues, password reset, etc).
- Undertake monitoring and evaluation activities - extract data from Google Analytics, eDM reports and social media; help compile monthly report.
- Implement marketing activities to raise awareness of the Get Active Victoria program, acquire accounts. and increase website traffic and account holder engagement with the digital platform:
- Assist in planning direct marketing campaigns, coordinate deliverables according to campaign plans and schedules, brief suppliers, monitor campaign progress and coordinate prize draws.
- Draft copy and coordinate approval process, design tiles. Proof deliverables, ensuring consistency in branding and messaging across all channels.
The Team
The position of Program Delivery Officer, Active Recreation forms a part of the Sport and Recreation Victoria Branch, which sits within Sport and Experience Economy Group.
Sport and Experience
Economy (SEE) Group delivers programs and initiatives to support positive experiences and a sense of belonging through sport, tourism, events and outdoor recreation – sectors that make Victoria a recognised leader from the grassroots level to the international stage and deliver significant economic, social and health benefits for the state.
This is achieved by supporting the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, the Minister for Outdoor Recreation and the Minister for Community Sport in the delivery of sport and tourism infrastructure, and through programs and policies that strengthen the capacity of sport and experience economy organisations, reduce barriers to participation and engagement, support world-class events, and reinforce the role that vibrant sport and experience economy sectors play in growing the Victorian economy, supporting jobs and building stronger communities. We also oversee regulation of the State's hunting, fishing, boating sectors, and support the Professional Boxing and Combat Sports Board in the regulation of professional boxing and combat sports.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following main skills and experience:

- Digital Marketing: Creates engaging copy and content with messages and tone that is appropriate for the target audience, and has strong attention to spelling, grammar and punctuation. Proficient in social media and email marketing; familiar with social media and email marketing best practices. A good eye for aesthetic design but with a passion for maintaining brand guideline consistency.
- Detail Focus: Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy. Identifies gaps in information or processes and seeks practical solutions. Thoroughly proofs and tests work to ensure accuracy and prevent errors; resolves identified issues.
- Stakeholder Management: Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable delivery of the Get Active Victora work program. Prepares accurate supplier briefs that clearly articulate scope of work; manages own workload to ensure that stakeholders are given adequate time to deliver required work or provide advice/review; ensures stakeholders are kept informed of work status and key issues; takes responsibility for own work; builds trust through consistent actions and communication.
- Enquiring, Curious and Motivated by New Ideas: Comfortable researching topics and tackling unfamiliar processes and projects. Enjoys getting into the detail to learn about the target audience or deliver a project successfully. Able to gather and interpret information to find solutions to problems or inform decisions. Prepare processes and resources to support the accurate collection of data and information on initiatives.
