About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Workforce, System and Family Supports Division consists of two branches that lead on the implementation of key early childhood strategies, projects and programs that support the implementation of the Best Start, Best Life reforms:
The work of the Division is built on a strong foundation of collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders (including staff in department Regions and Areas) and key external stakeholders, including sector peak bodies, with whom we partner with to successfully deliver policies and programs.
About the Role
Within the Partnerships and Multicultural Inclusion unit, the Program Advisor contributes towards the delivery of programs and initiatives to strengthen kindergarten participation for children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Responsibilities include providing guidance and strategic support to ensure successful program delivery, research, analysis, development of policy options and the preparation of reports, as well as contract management and program monitoring.
The programs include the CALD Outreach Initiative, the Brotherhood of St Laurence Family Learning Support Program, the Foundation House Early Years Program, fka Children's Services Cultural Inclusion Support, the Municipal Association of Victoria CALD Kindergarten Participation Project and early childhood language services.
