About the Division
Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division (SSPRD).
The SSPRD was established to lead a generational reform agenda in response to the 2020 Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling. These reforms will collectively support all Victorian secondary students to pursue high-quality and valued vocational pathways aligned to their strengths and interests and to finish schooling with the skills and capabilities they need for success in further education, training, work, and life.
The Senior Secondary Pathways Reform agenda is a high priority for the government. The SSPRD engages regularly with the Minister for Education and critical education, training, industry and community stakeholders.
About the Role
The Product Owner role is critical to delivery and ongoing support for the Career and Pathways Platform, a digital platform to support schools to implement senior secondary reform and ensure access and equity for students. The Product Owner works closely with IT delivery squads and the business program area to lead activities and prioritise features in an agile methodology to deliver new applications and enhancements to the Career and Pathways Platform.
Working closely with delivery squads, change teams, operations and program areas, the role requires a proven track record of delivering Salesforce-based digital solutions in a complex public sector environment. Strong communication and engagement skills are essential as this project is established as a partnership between the department's Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) and the Senior Secondary Pathways Reform Division (SSPRD).
The Product Owner will represent the program area and is responsible for prioritising features, product backlog grooming, feature acceptance criteria, requirements clarification and accepting or rejecting user stories.
The role requires understanding of current practice and future vision to ensure a fit-for-purpose digital solution.
SSPRD is investing heavily in technology to support schools to deliver high-quality senior secondary education aligned with reform objectives.
