About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Communications Division leads, shapes and supports communication of Victorian Government priorities for early childhood development, school education and vocational education and training.
The Digital and Creative Services Branch creates and manages the content and channels that deliver the Department's communication objectives. The branch provides expert advice and services related to design, brand management, written and visual content development, channel and advocates for a digital-first approach to communications across the Department.
About the Role
The Product Manager – EDM is a digital communications leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery, performance and continuous improvement of the department's email and intranet newsletter products and channels. The role ensures these critical communication products are delivered effectively, accurately and in alignment with departmental priorities, digital standards and user needs.
With a strong focus on channel strategy, governance and optimisation, the Product Manager – EDM provides leadership across EDM and newsletter delivery, ensuring these channels are reliable, high quality and fit for purpose. Working closely with senior stakeholders and colleagues across the Communications Division, the role provides strategic direction and authoritative advice to support the delivery of communication plans, campaigns and priority initiatives through digital channels.
It also leads the department's approach to urgent and emergency EDM communications, ensuring critical messages are delivered in a timely, accurate and effective way.
In addition, the Product Manager – EDM has significant people leadership responsibilities, including leading and developing a team of digital specialists, managing workflow and priorities, and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and service delivery. Ad hoc after-hours work will be required.
This is a full-time ongoing role.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, digital media, marketing, business or a related field are desirable, along with experience leading the delivery and continuous improvement of email, newsletter or intranet channels in a large and complex organisation. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice, lead urgent communications delivery, and manage digital products or channels to a high standard will be highly regarded. Experience leading teams, building capability and working in a fast-pace d, stakeholder-focused environment is also desirable, together with a strong understanding of digital governance, accessibility and best practice in channel delivery.
