About the Business Unit:
The role sits in Procurement Practice and Capability, within the broader Procurement Operations team, which is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholder groups to build capability in procurement and promote compliance with both Whole of Victorian Government (WoVG) and departmental policies.
About the Role:
The Procurement Capability Officer will work within the team to support branch operations and the broader department to uplift procurement capability and policy compliance through the delivery of training, business services and procurement resources. Additionally, the role will support the Manager, Procurement Practice and Capability to operationalise and embed key policy and project enablement initiatives.
Some of your duties will include:
- Identifying ways to operationalise changes to internal and external policy and implement necessary changes to procurement documents, information and training materials to maintain currency and relevancy of resources
- Communicating the importance of compliance, policy and governance in procurement and champion integrity in procurement practices to stakeholders
- Championing the value of procurement training and professional development to stakeholders in the department, including:
- fostering a team culture that welcomes feedback and suggestions on improvements to training and professional development from stakeholders
- gathering data on the effectiveness of the department's procurement training and providing guidance and advice to senior management on professional development opportunities that support the business unit's overall strategy and vision.
- managing and promoting the use of procurement subscriptions and memberships that offer professional development and upskilling opportunities as part of the overall objectives of the learning and development framework.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- The ability to work with colleagues to implement process improvements and changes to align with the goals outlined in the strategies
- The ability to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of development programs to ensure they are aligned with organisational goals and objectives
- The ability to identify the risks associated with lack of skills or knowledge in procurement, and how these risks can be predicted and mitigated with an effective procurement training program and delivery strategy.
