About the Division
Procurement Division works with the Department's stakeholders to deliver optimised procurement outcomes, providing value-for-money with integrity and impartiality.
The Corporate Procurement Branch (within the Division) delivers procurement of goods and services on behalf of Groups and Divisions in the department, supports and advises on procurements undertaken by DE corporate (including the regions) and undertakes procurement strategy development. The advertised role is responsible for providing leadership in procurement sourcing and commercial operations to the branch and the wider department.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Procurement Leadership team to action your expert sourcing skills and strong people management capability. The procurement manager leads a team of sourcing specialists to work collaboratively across the Department to deliver procurements with a focus on customer service and responsiveness through a supportive engagement model.
This role works closely with the Information Management and Technology Division of the Department to deliver ICT related procurements.
Responsibilities: (not limited to)
• Provision of thought leadership, commercial and procurement sourcing expertise, advice and assistance to the procurement team and internal stakeholders with a particular focus on ICT procurements;
• Undertakes high value procurements and develops briefs on highly complex commercial issues that provide options for decision;
• Leads a team to deliver savings through leading procurement activities end to end and delivering projects on time, according to scope and within budget;
• Initiates strategic and innovative change in procurement;
• Initiates and manages negotiations with peers (internal and external) to gain commitment to procurement projects, and delivery of activities to meet timelines;
• Routinely advises senior levels of the organisation on government procurement policy.
This role is fulltime and requires office attendance three days per week.
