About the Role
This newly created ongoing role is part of the ongoing evolution and maturing of category management at CFA. The Procurement Fleet Category Specialist is responsible for delivering strategic procurement outcomes across CFA's fleet portfolio, ensuring operational readiness and value-for-money outcomes.
You will act as the fleet category subject matter expert, collaborating with business units to champion procurement processes and align purchasing decisions with organisational priorities. You will lead category strategy development, provide oversight to the Senior Procurement Analyst, manage high-value sourcing activities, and drive supplier engagement and contract governance.
Through data-driven insights, market intelligence, and strategic sourcing, you will help shape CFA's fleet category, ensuring procurement practices are fit-for-purpose, compliant, and support the organisation's emergency response capability.
About you
You are an experienced procurement professional with a strong track record in category management, ideally within government or commercial sectors. You have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, collaborating effectively to deliver procurement outcomes that support frontline service delivery.
You bring a strong analytical mindset, using data and insights to guide sourcing strategies, optimise value and manage risk. You have experience leading or providing oversight to procurement teams, implementing category strategies, and tracking performance through KPIs and reporting.
Tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain, logistics or a related field are required, with CIPS certification desirable. Previous experience in government fleet procurement, project management, or structured procurement frameworks (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2) is highly regarded. You are proactive, innovative and committed to continuous improvement in procurement practices.
