There are no specific qualifications needed, but you must be an Australian or NZ citizen or hold Australian permanent residency. You must also hold an Australian driver's licence (minimum P2).

NEW $8,000 sign-on bonus
New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $8,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $4,000. Then, after one year's full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $4,000. Conditions apply, see website for details.
