The Principal Policy Officer provides responsive and strategic advice on enhancing and improving Solar Victoria’s suite of programs enabling Victorians to access clean and affordable energy. This position oversees the design and implementation of Solar Victoria’s key programs, by providing strategic policy advice and supporting program delivery, through evaluation, research and analysis of opportunities and risks. Operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and demands, the Principal Policy Officer is required to identify the short and long-term policies that guide Solar Victoria’s program review and design. The role requires flexibility to be deployed at short notice to emerging energy priorities across Solar Victoria.
The Principal Policy Officer collaborates internally across Solar Victoria and with internal and external stakeholders to identify linkages between policy and operational outcomes. This position requires extensive experience in energy policy development and strategic thinking as well as a detailed understanding of government processes. Excellent communication, organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills are also required.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 Months. The work location for this position is Morwell or Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements available.
