About the role
Please note that 2 x Full Time Ongoing Positions are available
This role provides transport planning advice on how new developments may affect Victoria’s arterial road and public transport networks. It assesses planning permit applications and major projects, prepares written responses within statutory timeframes, and advises councils, planners and other stakeholders. The role also represents the department in discussions, planning panels and VCAT hearings, and works with specialists to resolve complex issues. It supports and guides less experienced staff and helps track team performance. Success in this role helps ensure new developments are well planned, protect the transport network and support safe, efficient travel for the community

Can communicate clearly and confidently, including explaining complex matters and handling sensitive discussions.
Can analyse complex problems, consider transport, land use and statutory requirements, and develop practical solutions.
Can manage challenging stakeholder situations and negotiate outcomes that meet organisational and community needs.
Can apply and share knowledge effectively to support consistent practices and maintain good records and processes.
