About the role:
The Principal Project Officer, Strategic Insights and Infrastructure leads the development, coordination and continuous improvement of the insights, analytics enablement and performance infrastructure portfolio within Safer Care Victoria's Strategic Partnerships & Operational Excellence team.
The role is responsible for establishing and managing the core systems, processes and reporting mechanisms that support Safer Care Victoria to monitor, evaluate and continuously refine its statewide safety improvement initiatives and associated executive oversight priorities.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships & Operational Excellence, the role provides strategic leadership across the design and operationalisation of data-enabled monitoring frameworks, performance reporting cycles, portfolio intelligence products, and supporting infrastructure that underpin SCV's Learning Health System and broader improvement agenda.
The position leads a small specialist team and works in close partnership with the Department and SCV Data and Analytics teams, program leads, Local Health Service Network teams and executive stakeholders to identify fit-for-purpose datasets, translate business and program requirements into analytical solutions, monitor initiative performance, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and support evidence-informed decision making.
The role also supports the Executive Director, Improvement through the coordination of health service performance monitoring cycles, synthesis of statewide and service-level intelligence, and preparation of high-quality strategic advice, reporting and recommendations.
