THE ROLE
The Forensic Disability Services Principal Practitioner will provide expert-level practice leadership while driving and exploring service innovation, quality improvement, and capability development across the service. The role, in combination with the Senior Practice Leader, whom the Principal Practitioner manages, will promote high-quality, evidence-based practice and build workforce capability to enhance the way frontline services staff support people with complex needs, including those within the Forensic Disability system and those supported by Area-based Complex Needs Coordination.
The Principal Practitioner will have a prominent leadership role within Disability and Justice service systems. The role will work across multiple business units within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and engage with our community and sector partners and stakeholders, to identify trends and promote evidence based service delivery. The Principal Practitioner will identify and support quality improvement and reform opportunities to ensure services and practice are contemporary, effective, accessible and client-focused to address the complexity of needs of people with cognitive disability interacting with the criminal justice system.
