What you will do
As Principal Legal Adviser, you will provide senior legal advice across Fines and Enforcement Services.
You will help resolve complex legal issues while managing competing priorities and sensitive matters.
You will:
- provide specialist legal advice on complex contracts, administrative law and public law matters
- manage legal and commercial matters for important contracts, including variations and subcontracts
- support contract tenders and negotiations by drafting terms, assessing bids and developing legal strategies
- identify emerging legal and commercial risks and recommend practical ways to manage them
- brief senior leaders and professional advisers while providing clear advice on complex legal matters.
About you
You will need relevant legal qualifications and experience to practise as a lawyer in Australia.
You should also have:
- strong administrative law and litigation experience, with sound knowledge of dispute resolution
- commercial law experience and the ability to manage complex contracts and negotiations
- strong analytical skills to interpret legislation and develop accurate legal solutions
- sound judgement and relationship skills, with the ability to identify risks and provide clear advice.
