The Opportunity
The Principal Engineer, Victorian Transmission Plan, will help develop and implement planning criteria to reform the state's transmission system and support Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development
What you will deliver
- Provide effective technical input and advise for the development of Victorian Transmission Plan and Renewable Energy Zones and participate in multi-disciplinary teams working on VTP planning and modelling issues.
- Lead renewable energy zone development and transmission infrastructure development technical discussions with consultants, AEMO, NSPs and inhouse multi-disciplinary teams
- Analyse potential issues and identifies solutions to ensure reliable and efficient power delivery including design network architectures and coordinating with various stakeholders.
- Develop and present expert, strategic and authoritative advice, and documentation, briefings, correspondence, submissions and reports to articulate complex concepts for a range of audiences including Ministers, departmental executives, and stakeholders.
What you will bring
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Energy Systems, Electronics, etc), Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Science, or other relevant quantitative fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electricity Transmission System operation, planning and economics.
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy project development, electricity demand forecasting, energy at risk and cost-benefit modelling
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in robust quantitative, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, underscored by a track record of creating complex energy models
