About the role:
The Principal Cyber Security Officer provides authoritative cyber security leadership, assurance and operational expertise to strengthen cyber resilience across Victoria's public health sector. The role leads complex cyber security initiatives, supports sector-wide incident response, drives adoption of contemporary security practices and provides strategic advice to health services and government on emerging threats, risks and mitigation strategies. The position plays a critical role in improving the cyber maturity of Victoria's healthcare system and protecting critical health information and services..
The position participates in a cyber incident on-call roster and requires the ability to perform intermittent after-hours work.

About you:
Coordinate and deliver cybersecurity assurance activities, including review of health service cyber maturity, risk assessments, remediation plans and capability uplift initiatives.
Lead the development and continuous improvement of cybersecurity policies, standards, guidance material, controls and playbooks to support consistent security practices across Victorian public health services.
Build and maintain trusted relationships across the department, Victorian public health services and government stakeholders to support a coordinated approach to cyber security risk management and resilience.
Conduct assurance activities in accordance with the department's Health Sector Cybersecurity Strategy, service catalogue, relevant frameworks and operating model
Qualification/Specialist Expertise
A tertiary qualification in cyber security, engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field is highly desirable
Experience in operational technology is highly advantageous
Minimum of 4 years cybersecurity experience
Demonstrated experience providing cyber security advisory, assurance or risk management services within large and complex organisations.
Experience leading or coordinating cyber security incident response activities involving multiple stakeholders and critical systems.
Experience assessing cyber security risks and implementing practical risk mitigation strategies aligned with recognised security frameworks and standards.
Experience delivering cyber security programs, technologies or services across complex operating environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and provide authoritative advice on complex cyber security issues.
Knowledge of operational technology, connected medical devices and healthcare technology environments is highly desirable.
Experience working within the Victorian public sector, health sector or other highly regulated environments would be advantageo us.A full driver's license valid in Australia, and willingness to travel to regional and rural locations within Victoria
