About the role:
The Principal Application Transition Lead – MHWCMS is accountable for leading the transition of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Client Management System (MHWCMS) from implementation into stable, sustainable business‑as‑usual operations within Health Technology Services (HTS). The role ensures the MHWCMS solution is operationally ready and supportable, with clear accountability for transition assurance, cutover coordination, early‑life stabilisation and service acceptance.
A core responsibility of the role is to define and embed the future service model for MHWCMS, including support structures, roles, tiering, processes and operational interfaces within HTS. The role works closely with The MHWCMS project team and HTS service delivery, support and technical teams to ensure responsibilities are clearly defined, documented and transferred, and that service management arrangements are aligned to the needs of a critical statewide application.
The role also leads the operational capability transition, ensuring staff currently supporting the existing system are appropriately prepared to support MHWCMS. This includes identifying skill and capability gaps, coordinating knowledge transfer and uplift activities, and managing a period of controlled dual support where both systems operate concurrently. Through this transition period, the Principal Application Lead provides authoritative application leadership, assuring senior stakeholders of system stability, service readiness and the effective handover to steady‑state BAU support arrangements.
