THE ROLE
The Principal Adviser, Office of the Executive Director, plays a key role supporting the Executive Director, group executives and Statewide Disability and Housing Operations (SDHO) more broadly, through the provision of accurate and authoritative advice and delivers key business functions in a highly sensitive and complex environment. The Principal Adviser plays a lead role in ensuring effective operations and accountability of the group. The position regularly liaises with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and operates with a high-level of professionalism, initiative and collaboration.
Working closely with the Principal Executive Response Coordination Adviser, the Senior Executive Support Coordinator and the Executive Assistant, the Principal Adviser supports a range of functions in the Office of the Executive Director including strategic planning and risk management, and aiding in the business management of the group, including budget and finance coordination, human resourcing, organisational management and leading project work as required. The role works with team members and key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve systems and processes and supports the group by facilitating the provision of consistent high-quality communication into the different SDHO program areas.
The Principal Adviser also provides line management to the Senior Executive Support Coordinator and the Executive Assistant, as well as managing the Victorians Ineligible for the NDIS and Continuity of Support programs.
The Office of the Executive Director is a complex and dynamic working environment. The role requires a multi-skilled, responsive, and proactive individual able to be flexible to changing priorities, exercising sound judgement whilst navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
