Since opening in 2015, we have grown rapidly while maintaining a clear focus on what matters most: high-quality teaching, strong relationships and the success of every student.
Our name honours Truganini, an Aboriginal Tasmanian woman believed to have spent time in the area. Our motto, Inspiring Excellence in Learning to Believe, Achieve and Succeed, reflects our commitment to creating opportunities for every student to thrive.
Great teaching is at the heart of what we do. Our Literacy program draws on structured approaches, including Little Learners Love Literacy in F¿2.
This shared commitment to teaching excellence translates into strong student outcomes. Truganina College is a high-performing school, with NAPLAN results that match or exceed those of similar and network schools.
Our people are our greatest strength. Some of our staff have joined Truganina College from overseas, bringing a rich diversity of professional experience, educational perspectives and cultural knowledge. We celebrate this diversity and recognise the strength it brings to our College community.
We recruit for culture as well as capability, seeking professionals who will contribute positively to our teams and share our commitment to students. Collaboration is embedded in how we work: teachers plan together, teach from shared materials, and receive ongoing coaching and mentoring throughout their careers. Whether beginning their second year of teaching or bringing 20 years of experience, our staff are supported to learn, grow and continually strengthen their practice.
