About the role
We are seeking a Precedent Developer (Legal Precedents and Automation) to develop, automate and maintain high quality legal precedents including structured and automated documents, partner with legal branches to ensure their precedent-related needs are met, and maintain the VGSO precedent system. The role has an emphasis on developing new precedents, building and maintaining the precedent library, conducting training and promoting knowledge sharing initiatives.
This role will be responsible for further improving the Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy to embed a knowledge sharing culture which builds on over 170 years of legal services to the Victorian Government and public sector.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the legal industry and strong IT skills, especially with precedent software and content management systems (including tools such as HotDocs, XpressDox, Active Docs, Smarter Drafter, or equivalent), document assembly platforms, Word styles and advanced Microsoft Word functionality.
You will have great attention to detail and consistently produce high-quality work. A proactive attitude and good problem-solving skills are essential.
