SEVR is seeking instructional leaders with expertise in the department’s Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS) to support the implementation of the 8 PCMS in Victorian government schools. The PCMS Coach is an exciting opportunity for educators ready to influence practice across Victorian government schools. The senior coaching role combines project leadership, school-based support, system-level influence and expert coaching. As a member of the state-wide behaviour support team, the PCMS Coach is central to the implementation of the 8 PCMS practices. The role focuses on building capability in schools to embed high quality, sustainable classroom practices that leads to lasting improvement in classroom behaviour support.
About the Role
The role is dynamic and practice-oriented, combining school-based coaching, leadership development, and regional collaboration. Each semester, the PCMS Coach will partner with 10 Victorian Government schools, working closely with school leaders and instructional teams to deliver a structured coaching program that strengthens implementation capability and embeds sustainable practices aligned with the PCMS.
PCMS Coaches will participate in an intensive induction in early December 2025, covering PCMS content, systems coaching, and practice-based coaching approaches. Ongoing fortnightly supervision will be provided to support professional growth and ensure consistent, high-quality practice across the program.

This is a Fixed-Term / Full-Time position until 31 December 2026.
Locations
South East Victoria Region (SWVR) - 2 positions supporting schools in Metro Area (Bayside Peninsula and Southern Melbourne Areas).
Key responsibilities:
- Establishing school readiness and developing context-specific action plans in partnership with school teams.
- Leading and supporting schools to embed the 8 PCMS using the practice-based coaching model to support implementation that leads to lasting, school-wide practice change.
- Supporting schools to establish baseline data to guide effective decision-making and monitor school engagement.
- Sharing insights across the region to ensure alignment with broader departmental objectives and evidence-based approaches.
- Design and facilitate workshops, webinars, and school-based sessions to implement the PCMS, with a focus on developing internal school leaders who can drive practice improvement.
- Model and provide feedback on PCMS implementation, supporting internal leaders to embed strategies and monitor progress against agreed plans.
- Support schools to use data effectively to inform decision-making, track teacher practice, and guide improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including fortnightly progress reports for each school on the coaching caseload.
- Contribute to regional planning for PCMS implementation and advise on integration with other improvement initiatives.
- Build capability of educators and school leaders through targeted feedback, professional learning, and knowledge-sharing, ensuring sustainable improvements in classroom practice.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Experience working within Australian schools.
- Current Working with Children Check and current Victorian Driver's Licence.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate study in behaviour support or inclusive practice.
- Teaching and / or educatio
nal leadership background, with demonstrated expertise in coaching and instructional practice.
- Knowledge and experience with the 8 PCMS and experience in Practice Based Coaching for teachers.
- Familiarity and experience with School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS).
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

This role is located in the Wellbeing and Engagement Branch, Student Wellbeing and Engagement Division, South-Eastern Victoria Region, SRS. The Division works closely with education area teams and key central office program areas to promote and support regional and statewide consistency and lead professional practice and coordination across the region relating to:
- School services and support
- Student health, wellbeing and engagement
The Division includes a team of professionals who:
- Provide coordination and oversight of services that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people, particularly the vulnerable, to enable them to learn and develop to their full potential.
- Support services, where appropriate, to improve the wellbeing, learning and development outcomes of children, young people and adult learners.
- Ensure strong service provision across the region.
