The Opportunity
The Portfolio Director, Strategy and Planning, plays a key role in shaping and driving how VicGrid plans, governs and delivers its work. This role brings together transmission planning and reform priorities, connecting them to enterprise strategy and ensuring they translate into coordinated, high-impact portfolio delivery across the organisation.

What you will deliver
- Lead the design and delivery of a portfolio of programs aligned to the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework, connecting seamlessly with broader VicGrid priorities and governance.
- Establish and embed robust portfolio governance, including clear decision-making, reporting, and performance tracking aligned to executive and Board expectations.
- Drive integrated planning across Strategy & Planning, Access & Connections, Delivery and other functions to ensure alignment from policy through to project execution.
- Translate strategic policy and reform priorities into structured, deliverable programs with clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
What you will bring
- Proven experience leading complex portfolios, programs or PMO functions in infrastructure, energy or government environments, bringing together policy, planning and delivery into a cohesive operating model.
- Demonstrated ability to turn strategy, policy and reform priorities into clear, executable programs, with defined pathways, governance and measurable outcomes.
- Strong track record designing and embedding governance frameworks, including executive and Board reporting, decision-making structures, assurance and portfolio oversight.
- Deep understanding of policy and reform environments, with the ability to connect strategic intent to practical, on-the-ground delivery.
