The Opportunity
The Portfolio Director, Business Enablement leads integrated planning, governance and delivery across VicGrid, connecting corporate systems and services to enterprise strategy. This role shapes how VicGrid plans, governs and executes its work by driving clarity, consistency and alignment in a complex, evolving environment.

What you will deliver
- Deliver an integrated portfolio of strategic programs that translate VicGrid's priorities into coordinated, outcome-driven initiatives aligned to enterprise objectives and governance frameworks.
- Establish and embed robust portfolio governance to enable clear decision-making, transparent reporting, and performance tracking that meets Executive and Board requirements.
- Lead enterprise planning for organisational capability uplift and transformation initiatives, setting clear priorities and shaping integrated roadmaps, resourcing and delivery pathways in a fast‑moving environment building capability from the ground up
- Lead end‑to‑end enterprise delivery, orchestrating complex, interdependent technology enabled initiatives, actively managing risk, and driving disciplined execution against clear milestones and accountabilities.
What you will bring
- Proven leadership of complex portfolios or PMO functions, bringing strategy, planning and delivery together into a cohesive, high-performing operating model.
- Lead complex tech portfolios, managing vendors and interdependencies to bring strategy, planning and delivery together into a clear, high-performing operating model
- Ability to turn strategy into action, translating transformation priorities into structured programs with clear pathways, governance and measurable outcomes.
- Highly influential communicator, skilled at shaping clear, targeted messaging and advice to support executive decision-making across diverse audiences.
- Strong governance and commercial acumen, with deep experience in Board-level reporting, decision frameworks and driving delivery outcomes through effective planning, sequencing and risk management.

This is a three-year fixed-term position. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, with some overnight travel. Hybrid work arrangements available.
