POLICY RESEARCH OFFICER
An exciting opportunity is available to join the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) as a Policy Research Officer within the Policy and Projects Team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Policy Research Officer is responsible for supporting the successful achievement of the ANZPAA Strategy and Annual Plan by working across a range of work items in support of the ANZPAA Board (Board), comprising Police Commissioners across Australia and New Zealand. The position supports the review of cross-jurisdictional products, stakeholder engagement, facilitates workshop and consultation meetings, conducts desktop research, and assists with the development of innovative solutions. The position is also responsible for drafting cross-jurisdictional policy instruments and education and training products, preparing meeting papers, briefings, reports, presentations and facilitating the administration of policy projects where required.
The Policy and Projects Team are responsible for reviewing a wide variety of cross-jurisdictional policy instruments and education and training products that cover a broad span of policing areas, as well as proactively identifying emerging issues impacting strategic and operational environments for policing. The Policy Research Officer working in this team will have a proven ability to identify and address complex areas of policing and a willingness to learn and engage with unfamiliar subject matter.
The Policy Research Officer will have strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving, critical thinking capability and workshop facilitation skills.
