This position provides an opportunity to assist in driving the transition to Integrated Water Management (IWM) becoming mainstream practice in the water sector in metropolitan Melbourne, and to identify policy solutions to policy issues arising from the implementation of priority IWM initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in integrated water management including interactions between land use and water cycle planning, and implementation of collaborative process by engaging with stakeholders constructively.
You will contribute to relevant policy related initiatives to embed and facilitate implementation of IWM, working closely with others within the Department and across government; Prepare technical reports, communication and other briefing materials for a broad range of internal and IWM Forum stakeholders; and Co-ordinate the MERI (Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement) activities supported by the Metro IWM Forums for tracking the progress of delivering IWM outcomes and priority actions.
Other highlights of the position include opportunity to work across DEECA, relevant government portfolios and with the 49 metro IWM Forum partner stakeholder organisations which include Traditional Owners, water corporations, local government, catchment management authority and the Victorian Planning Authority.
