About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs focussed on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system. The Justice System Coordination and Reform. (JSCR) group supports the Attorney-General and DJCS ministers to deliver criminal and civil law, integrity and court services policy responsibilities by providing legal and policy expertise to DJCS and Justice Ministers, working collaboratively with key entities across the justice system and the department.
The Courts and Justice System Reform. (CJSR) business unit leads strategic court and justice system reform. relevant to the Attorney-General's first law officer responsibilities, including policy, strategic projects, legislation, judicial appointments, budget, sector support and development, and national agreements relating to legal assistance, and key Attorney-General entities across the justice system.
About the Role:
The Policy Officer is responsible for contributing to the co-ordination, research, development, implementation and review of the Project.
