About the role:
We welcome Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply for this role. With the release of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System final report, there is considerable opportunity for Department of Health to positively change the way it works with Aboriginal organisations and communities to achieve optimal health and wellbeing outcomes.
Reporting through to the Manager, Balit Murrup Unit, Policy, Quality and Self-Determination, the Policy Officer will play a key role in providing project support for the evaluation of the ten-year Balit Murrup Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Framework 2017-2027 and an evaluation of the Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing recommendations from the Royal Commission into the Victoria's Mental Health System.
The Project Officer will also support the design and delivery of culturally safe mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal communities. Candidates with a deep understanding of issues facing Aboriginal communities, strong skills and experience spanning public policy, participatory decision making, project management and delivery and stakeholder engagement are encouraged to apply.
