THE ROLE
The Policy and Project Officer works to contribute to the design and implementation of strengthened state-wide and place-based governance arrangements to improve service coordination and consistent service delivery, including assertive outreach, entry points and IAP, and Networks.
The role requires excellent communication, conceptual and analytical abilities and be able to gather, synthesise and analyse information from a range of sources and adapt this for meeting and briefing materials. The role also requires a proactive, responsive and collaborative approach, and be adaptable to shifting focus and tasks as needed as part of a small, dynamic team. The role also plans, co-ordinates and prepares meeting and briefing materials as required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Contribute to projects to meet departmental objectives including:
- Assisting in research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs
- Supporting the development and delivery of policy advice and practical projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters
- Contributing to monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Assist in providing authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
- Undertake research and investigations to contribute to the development of sound policy recommendations, and system/service solutions within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
