THE ROLE
The Aboriginal-led System Design team works to drive Aboriginal-led and self-determined design and delivery of policy, strategy and legislation for Aboriginal children, families and young people associated with Victoria's Child Protection, Care Services and Child and Family Services system.
The Policy Officer role presents an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of the Statement of Recognition Act and Wungurilwil Gapgapduir: Aboriginal Children and Families Agreement.
In this role you will contribute to the strategic policy development as well as provide project and governance support to meet project deadlines across the team. You will support the Manager and Senior Policy Officers with research activities, preparation of policy advice, papers, briefs and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will require strong policy, written and stakeholder engagement skills. This role will also be well suited to a dynamic team-player and highly organised individual with excellent verbal communication, project planning and problem-solving skills.
