About the role
The Policy Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of environmental and natural hazards planning reforms that strengthen Victoria’s planning system. Working as part of the Natural Hazards Policy team in the State Planning Policy Division, you’ll contribute to shaping policies that improve the efficiency, quality and outcomes of planning decisions across the state.
You’ll provide research, analysis and policy support on projects, helping deliver reforms that integrate environmental considerations and risk management into planning processes. The role offers an opportunity to learn from experienced policy advisors and gain valuable exposure to Victoria’s strategic and statutory planning systems.

What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to research, interpret and present information clearly. You’ll enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with others, and contributing ideas in a fast-paced policy environment. A qualification in planning, environmental impact assessment or a related field is essential.
