Policy & Legislation Officer
About the opportunity
The Policy & Legislative Services Officer provides specialist administrative, technical business unit support and service to the Legislation, Policy and Information (LPIS) Division of WorkSafe to maintain quality outcomes and to enable the Division's efficient functioning.
This involves supporting, assisting and coordinating work across a wide portfolio of projects and programs and is designed to enable key learning and development opportunities within the team and LPIS Division. You will:
Support the Senior Policy & Legislative Services Advisors in the development of critical research and analysis on occupational health and safety and workers' compensation topics
Assist in the development of and/or undertake the quality assurance review of statutory and non-statutory guidance.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and participate in multi-skilled teams to proactively assist areas to apply quality customer-service principles
Provide high level administration support to the team by contributing to the preparation of briefings, meeting papers, reports or submissions to executive, cabinet or parliament

About you
You will have demonstrated experience in high level administration with strong coordination and planning skills. You will have a proven ability to use initiative and be able to meet tight deadlines, often with competing priorities. Your communication and organisational skills are exceptional. Formal qualifications in relevant law or public policy will be mandatory. Experience in similar role or formal qualifications in economics will be highly desired.
