An exciting ongoing Policy and Project Officer opportunity is currently available in the CCS Development Branch within the Practice Development and Review Branch in Parole and Court Practice, Community Operations, Corrections Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Community Operations is responsible for the direction, management, and operation of Victoria's Community Correctional Services (CCS) across more than 35 locations. It ensures people subject to CCS supervision are safely managed and aims to rehabilitate individuals by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Parole and Court Practice is responsible for providing central end-to-end oversight of the CCS service system and includes the Parole Central Unit (PCU), CCS Practice Development and Review Branch, Statewide Community Work and Partnerships (SCWP), System Integrity (SI) and Court Assessment and Prosecutions Services (CAPS) Central Unit.
This position is within the CCS Development Branch within the CCS Practice Development and Review Branch. The CCS Development Branch oversees several CCS portfolio and central functions, including Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health and Family Violence. The Branch is the central coordination point for the revision and reissuing of CCS practice guidance and operational process requirements. CCS review and investigation activities, monitoring and reporting and a suite of operational projects are also functions undertaken within the Branch.
Reporting to the Senior Project Officer, the Policy and Project Officer will provide expert and strategic policy advice to support CCS Development Branch functions, undertake project management functions to support the implementation of CCS reforms, support the revision and reissuing of CCS practice guidance and undertake data entry, information technology and other business support functions.
About the Role
The Policy and Projects Officer provides and/or contributes to a range of policy documents, such as advice, reports, briefings, presentations and correspondence on matters relating to support CCS Development Branch functions.
You are responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders in relation to negotiation on complex operational and project matters.
